Fire in built environment

Fire engulfed a house and two jetties at Jeti Achok Lorong 11, Sekinchan, earlier this morning, destroying nearly 80 per cent of the structures before firefighters managed to put the fire under control.
The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 8.57am and dispatched fire engines from Sekinchan, Tanjong Karang, and Sungai Besar stations.Firefighters arrived at the scene within five minutes at 9.02am.The fire affected a row of illegal fishery jetties.A van was nearly completely destroyed, while a Perodua Myvi sustained only minor damage.The fire was successfully brought under control at 10.04am. No casualties were reported.The operation was led by Fire and Rescue Department fire officer II Mohd Rafizal Mohd Rani.
A total of 17 personnel and three fire engines, including a water tanker, were deployed to the scene.The cause of the fire and the estimated damages are still under investigation.
