Privacy policy, rights and conditions

The RSOE-EDIS webpage (rsoe-edis.org) is maintained by National Association of Radio Distress-Signalling and Infocommunications, which publishes up-to-date information and multimedia content in English.

A mobile app version of our website is also available. The RSOE-EDIS app, due to its simplified architecture, is suitable for use on small-screen mobile devices.

This “Privacy policy, rights and conditions” document covers the use of both the web page as well as the mobile app.

You, as a visitor of our web page (hereinafter: user), by visiting the webpage, accept its terms and conditions and the terms set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Prior registration and the provision of personal information are not required to view contents of these web pages; they are available free of charge.

The rights owner preserves the right to give access to certain information only upon registration. Users will receive information on the relevant privacy policy prior to registration.

The rights owner preserves the right to restrict, in part or in fully, the freely available content for certain users if the user’s activities caused problems in the operation of the web pages, or caused damage or damaged the interests of the rights owner.

  • Copyright

Copyright to the contents of the web page is held by National Association of Radio Distress-Signaling and Infocommunications (RSOE), except if another source (copyright holder) is listed as the owner in the concrete document.

Pictures, graphics, pictograms, maps, texts, programs, computer applications, processes, documentation, data structures, data on weather, water levels, ice conditions, announcement for waterways users, etc. are held by domestic and international copyright. Visitors of the webpage may download, display on their monitors, and use strictly for their own purposes the contents of those web pages. If contents of the web page are used for other than personal purposes, the source of the data and the prior written permission of RSOE (or other rights holder) is required.

Except for data in the public interest, no part of the webpage may be sold commercially without prior written authorization by RSOE, or produce moral or financial profit with its use.

Except for data that serve public interest, the contents of the web page may not be distributed or stored in a database without the written prior permission of RSOE, or to publish any part of it through technical means or even to re-transmit it in an unchanged form.

The names “rsoe-edis.org” and “RSOE-EDIS” are the property of RSOE, and their use is therefore subject to written permission.

Saving the contents of the web page in an open or closed database is prohibited.

The contents and format of the web page may not be modified, even when the publication right has been granted, and they cannot be used for purposes other than the purpose of the web page.

The web page does not publish any advertisements related to the business sector, and deals solely with information in the public and nonprofit sector.

Violations of copyright laws will result in legal actions under the civil and criminal codes.

  • Placement of links, references to the web page

The copyright holder supports the placement of links pointing to its web page on other web pages. No written permission is required from the copyright holder, but the notification of the copyright holder without delay is necessary. The copyright holder will not permit the placement of a link to its web page if such link is placed on a web page containing political, religious, erotic content or content not compatible with the constitutional order or the rightful interests of the copyright holder. In the latter cases, the link pointing to the web page must be removed upon the written request by the copyright holder.

  • Citation

The original content of the web page or any of its page elements may be used, based on prior written authorization by the copyright owner.

The prior written authorization of the copyright holder is not required for citations. The citation must conform to provisions of Act CLXXXV of 2010 on media services and mass communications, Act LXXVI of 1999 on copyright, and Act V of 2013 on Civil Code and other pertinent regulations. For citations, we request that a link, with the source, be included pointing to the appropriate location of the web page.

The copyright holder’s prior written permission is required to re-publish articles verbatim.

Articles on the web page that are based on news agency sources may not be reproduced.

  • URL

RSOE reserves the right to change the web address (URL) of the web page.

  • Indemnification

The owner of the web page will do its best to ensure that information published on the portal are accurate, up to date and complete, but shall not be held liable for any damages resulting from the use of such information.

  • Privacy policy – Use of cookies, tracking visitor count

The copyright holder measures the number of visitors and their characteristics using the Google Analytics service. The purpose of tracking visitors is to learn about user habits, and to develop the webpage based on information thus acquired. Google Analytics uses cookies to track visitors to the site.

The so-called cookies are small text files through which the web page can store data on the user’s machine. The webpage will store the cookies in the browser of the computer, and will read them again on the next visit.

Data stored by Google Analytics cannot be used to identify individuals, but are able to recognize if somebody has visited the web page from the user’s computer and with the user’s browser before.

Cookies can be deleted from the user’s computer and can be blocked in the user’s browser. Cookies can be managed in Tools > Options of the browser under the Privacy settings.

The webpage is compatible with most widely used browsers, and has been optimized for the 1280x800 screen resolution. The following free browsers (available in Hungarian) are recommended to view our pages:

The current privacy policy shall be in effect until withdrawn. The copyright holder reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes in this Privacy Policy will be communicated through a message on the opening page of the the web page.
