A gas blast has torn through a well-known holiday resort, leaving at least five people wounded, including two small children.Emergency crews rushed to the scene at approximately 7.30am on Saturday, January 30 following reports of a barbecue blast at the BIG4 Ingenia Holidays park at Lake Conjola on the NSW South Coast, Australia.Several paramedic teams attended the explosion whilst an air ambulance was also sent to the location. Two of those needing medical attention are youngsters aged under five, reports the Mirror.
A gentleman in his 30s was airlifted to Wollongong Hospital with facial wounds and remains in a stable condition.Three casualties were transported to Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital, comprising a lady and two youngsters under five years of age.The lady, aged in her 30s, is receiving treatment for abdominal trauma and is stable, whilst the two youngsters are being cared for with minor wounds.Video footage circulated online reveals debris and a demolished barbecue zone, with mangled metal and possessions strewn throughout the area.One witness recounted the frightening moment when the blast took place. They said: "I was sitting on the balcony and it was just a huge explosion."The observer explained that a family on holiday had been making breakfast at the barbecues when the explosion struck.A NSW Ambulance representative confirmed the incident remained active, according to Nine News.BIG4 Ingenia Holidays park at Lake Conjola has been approached by The Mirror for a statement.
