A fire that erupted in the second basement of a multi-storey commercial building, Multan Trade Center, here Thursday night was swiftly contained by Rescue 1122 teams, with no loss of life reported.
According to Rescue 1122, the emergency call indicated that two parked cars had caught fire in the second basement of the 10-storey commercial building. Rescue and fire units responded immediately, dispatching nearby teams to the scene.
A total of nine emergency vehicles, including multiple fire tenders and a bike ambulance, reached the site within minutes. Firefighters launched a prompt operation and brought the active blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the approximately 14,000-square-foot structure.
“All occupants remained safe and no casualties were reported,” Rescue 1122 said, adding that cooling and search operations continued for some time before the situation was brought under control, eliminating all remaining risks.
District Emergency Officer Dr Hussain Mian said the teams’ timely response and coordinated strategy averted a major disaster and potential financial losses.
Rescue officials urged citizens to immediately report any emergency to helpline 1122.
