A strong storm hit Anapa today, and waves and winds destroyed the protective barriers erected to protect beaches from fuel oil and debris, a blogger reported.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," the Krasnodar Krai task force reported that there have been no new fuel oil spills on the coast of Anapa and the Temryuk district for almost three months. On February 7, volunteers reported that the wind had exposed layers of fuel oil right on the protective embankment. 12 bags of clean fuel oil were collected in one day.
There was a storm in Anapa today, and waves washed away the fuel oil protective embankment on many of the resort's beaches, blogger Yuri Ozarovsky reported.
He published photos and videos of various Anapa beaches today.
"All the beaches were flooded and all the embankments were washed away," he noted.
"The sandbag embankment near the Grand Hotel Anapa is crumbling," he reported. "Laguna Beach on the Mozhepsin River. The storm raised the river level, washed away the sandbags, and is washing away the banks!"
The protective embankments on the central beach also failed. "The embankments couldn't hold up, the nets are being washed away!" he reported.
The protective embankments, hastily erected in the fall of 2025 in Anapa, were practically destroyed by strong storms and are no longer functioning, the volunteers noted. Embankments and nets are a good way to protect beaches from fuel oil if they are built properly and regularly maintained, bloggers previously objected, noting that they found fuel oil spills behind the embankment after a storm.
As a reminder, on April 18, 2025, Rospotrebnadzor declared 141 beaches in Anapa and nine beaches in the Temryuk district unsuitable for recreation.
