A Vatican aid convoy was hit by gunfire in Lebanon Tuesday, a local security sources told AFP.
A humanitarian aid convoy organized by Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon, Paolo Borgia, destined for Christian villages in the south, had to turn back on Tuesday after being "hit by gunfire," the security source on the scene told AFP, without specifying the source of the shots.
The convoy was escorted by the French UNIFIL battalion and was heading toward the village of Debel.
The shots caused "damage to vehicles," while no injuries were reported, the source added.
The Lebanese news agency ANI reports that the convoy had to turn back "due to crossfire" between Israel and Hezbollah.
