On March 5, 2026, the fishing vessel Denali struck the dock at Salmon Landing, Ketchikan, Alaska on the way back to berth from refueling. The allision punctured the starboard fuel tank.
Although the initial National Response Center report estimated 100 gallons of fuel were discharged, approximately 2,900 gallons of diesel has been discharged into the Tongass Narrows. Oil sheen is moving north quickly with the tides (approximately one mile two hours after the incident).
