On March 4, 2026, U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Sector New Orleans contacted the NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator (SSC) regarding a potential 10-20 barrel oil spill in the vicinity of Grand Pass West Bay, Louisiana. Hilcorp Energy reported the oil discharge from a pinhole leak in a flowline. An OSRO (oil spill removal organization has been contacted and is enroute for boom deployment. An overflight is scheduled at first light on March 5, 2026. The USCG requested trajectory analysis from NOAA in the event that the spill is uncontained.
