Police have rescued four Chinese nationals aged from under 20 to their 40s who had gone missing on Mount Kurodake in Kamikawa, Hokkaido, the prefectural police announced on March 25.The four were transported to a hospital, but none of them was injured.According to Asahikawa Higashi Police Station, the four reached the seventh station of the 1,984-meter peak by taking a ropeway and a lift, aiming to make it to the summit to ski and snowboard on March 24. Two other people accompanying them gave up partway and descended the mountain. The remaining four got lost when they started skiing and snowboarding down from the summit.The four were near a stream with no mobile reception, but they managed to report their emergency using a smartphone feature for a satellite emergency call.
