Police injured a fifth suspect during the exchange of gunfire.Police had placed the suspects under surveillance after linking them to a group targeting travellers at airports.Investigators believe the suspects were following a potential victim home from the airport when officers moved in.The suspects tried to flee, triggering a high-speed chase that ended in a shoot-out with police.Police spokesperson Tintswalo Sibeko said officers were still processing the scene.“Active crime scene at Yeoville. Four suspects were fatally wounded, and one was injured. Three firearms recovered,” Sibeko said.Police suspect the group forms part of a syndicate that targets travellers arriving at airports.Members of the group allegedly follow victims from the airport to their homes before robbing them.
