Honolulu firefighters extinguished a 7th-floor condo fire overnight in Waikiki that displaced one resident.The 911 call to the Honolulu Fire Department came in at 11:46 p.m. for a fire at the Waikiki Park Heights at 2440 Kuhio Ave., in Waikiki. Ten units with 39 personnel responded, with the first arriving in seven minutes.No smoke or flames were visible from the exterior of the 23-story high-rise, according to HFD, but firefighters began an aggressive interior attack and quickly contained the fire.The fire was extinguished by 12:10 a.m.No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross assisted a male resident displaced by the fire.
An investigation is underway to determine the fire’s cause and origin, along with estimated damages.
