Heavy rainfall across several regions of Pakistan has caused tragic incidents and disrupted daily life, with authorities reporting multiple casualties and infrastructure damage. The worst incident occurred in Bannu, where a house roof collapsed during intense rain, killing three children and injuring two others.According to rescue officials, five children belonging to a local resident were trapped under the debris when the roof suddenly caved in during the storm. Despite emergency rescue efforts, two daughters and a son lost their lives, while two injured boys were pulled from the rubble and shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.Meanwhile, widespread rainfall was also recorded in several cities of Punjab, including Lahore, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, Yazman and the Cholistan region. Authorities reported water accumulation in several urban areas as steady showers affected traffic flow and disrupted normal activities across many localities.In Lahore, moderate to heavy rain flooded streets and low-lying neighborhoods, while power outages left several areas without electricity for hours. Weather officials warned that intermittent rainfall may continue in the city until March 31, urging residents to remain cautious during unstable weather conditions.Furthermore, rainfall was also reported in Islamabad and various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, indicating a broader weather system affecting large parts of the country. Authorities said emergency teams remain on alert as local administrations monitor the situation and respond to weather-related incidents.Meanwhile, the weather department has predicted additional rain in southern and western regions, including Karachi and Quetta. Officials say further showers could bring temporary relief from rising temperatures but may also increase the risk of urban flooding in vulnerable areas.
