Honolulu firefighters contained a brushfire in Nanakuli that broke out Wednesday evening near Tracks Beach Park, also known as “Electric Beach,” on Farrington Highway.
The Honolulu Fire Department received a 911 call at 6:44 p.m. for the wildland fire and initially responded with three units and nine personnel.
HFD’s first unit arrived on scene just before 7 p.m., requested additional resources and began an offensive fire attack. A total of 10 engines and four tankers worked to contain the fire, managing to contain 95% of it as of 9:55 p.m.
HFD said about three acres were involved in the fire.
No injuries were reported, and no structures were impacted. No further details were available.
