Tesco in Glastonbury, Glastonbury, Somerset, England

TESCO in Glastonbury has announced it will be reopening after two caravans were deliberately set on fire near the supermarket.
Tesco, on Wirral Park Road, will reopen today (June 14) as normal, for browsing at 9.30am and for purchasing at 10am, after closing yesterday (June 13) due to a large blaze which started at 8.07pm.
On Facebook, a spokesperson for the store said: "Please avoid Tesco Glastonbury for the time being whilst we assess the damage caused by a fire.
"We are definitely closed for the rest of the evening, as soon as I know any more I will post here."
Two fire engines from Glastonbury and Street fire stations were initially sent to the scene following multiple calls reporting a caravan on fire at Tesco.
While en route, crews requested a third engine from Wells fire station after seeing a 'large plume of smoke'.
Crews on scene arrived 'within minutes' and immediately requested two more fire engines come to help from Somerton and Shepton Mallet fire stations.
Crews at the scene also requested an aerial ladder platform from Bridgwater, after they confirmed two caravans were on fire 'in close proximity to the store' and with a 'high risk of the fire spreading to it'.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control and prevent it from 'extensively spreading to the store', which had been evacuated by staff.
At 10.40pm, the incident was brought under control, and the fire was fully extinguished, fire crews said.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has since confirmed that the fire was started deliberately.
Before crews left the scene, they used thermal imaging cameras to check for fire spread and hotspots, while fans were used to clear the store of smoke.
The fire service has confirmed that there were no casualties, and once the caravan and the scene were made safe, the incident was left in the hands of store staff and the police.
The spokesperson said: "Due to the quick response of fire crews and immediate increase in resources once on scene, crews were able to bring the fire under control and prevent it from extensively spreading to the store, which had been evacuated by staff.
"The fire, which was started deliberately, was extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus, 3 hose reel jets, 2 main jets, 1 covering jet assisted by the aerial ladder platform, together with ladders and fogging spikes (which penetrate walls with voids).
"Thermal imaging cameras were used to check for fire spread and hotspots, whilst positive pressure ventilation fans were used to clear the store of smoke.
"Luckily, there were no casualties, and once the scene was made safe the incident was left in the hands of store staff and the police."
The store will be open today as normal, and staff at the store have thanked residents for their patience in a post on Facebook.
Avon and Somerset Police have been contacted for comment.
