A dramatic scene unfolded in New York City on Saturday night when a fire erupted on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge right in the middle of the Macy’s Independence Day fireworks spectacular.
As the sky illuminated to celebrate the historic 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the celebration took an unexpected turn. Social media quickly flooded with footage showing flames and thick smoke rising from sections of the suspension bridge while fireworks were actively being launched over the East River, News.Az reports, citing Anadolu Agency.
Fortunately, authorities have not reported any immediate injuries. Officials have yet to release a statement regarding the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage to the bridge structure.
