On July 11, four people died when a cargo van and a BMW passenger car collided on the Tallinn highway in Salacgrīva parish – the truck driver and three people in the car.Police say the passengers in the car were Turkish citizens with Finnish residence permits. The driver of the cargo van was a Latvian national. The State Police will investigate the circumstances of the crash.Meanwhile, five people were injured and one killed in a two-car collision in Iecava parish. Another person lost his life in Zvārtava parish – a quad bike driver who overturned and died from his injuries.In all there were 124 traffic accidents, with 25 people injured, from Friday to Saturday and another 115 accidents were registered from Saturday to Sunday, with 19 people injured but no deaths.
