Five people lost their lives and another was injured, all the members of the same family, when the roof of their mud house collapsed due to heavy rainfall in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, a local official reported Friday evening.The incident occurred on the outskirts of Police District 7 in Jalalabad, the provincial capital, as torrential downpours and hailstorms battered the region, destabilizing residential houses, according to Qurishi Badlon, the provincial director for information and culture.Heavy rainfall and downpours have battered parts of Afghanistan over the past three days, including Nangarhar province, triggering widespread flash floods and causing significant loss of life and property.
