Luxembourg’s firefighters were called out “to three major fires that broke out at different locations in the north of the country” between 21:33 and 22:00, be the CGDIS fire and rescue service said in a statement.
In Troine, in the municipality of Wincrange, firefighters were called out to a barn on fire. In Landscheid (Tandel), they also had their hands full, with a fire involving bales of hay spreading over approximately 250 metres, and in Pommerloch, emergency services were deployed to tackle a roof fire at a residential property.
During these operations, one firefighter sustained minor injuries, the CGDIS reported.
Firefighters from 13 fire stations
In total, around 150 firefighters from no fewer than 13 CGDIS fire stations, the Operational Technology Support Group, the Operational Coordination Support Group and the Logistics Support Centre were deployed.
“In order to coordinate the operations and ensure coverage across the regions, the Operations Management Centre was activated,” the CGDIS added.
