Severe weather

The Barbados Meteorological Services has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch as a tropical wave affects the island.
Moderate to heavy showers are affecting Barbados, with the possibility of frequent lightning strikes, particularly during heavy downpours.
The Met Office warned that lightning activity could result in power outages if strikes hit utility infrastructure and reminded the public that lightning can be life-threatening.
The watch was issued this morning and is in effect until noon today or sooner if conditions improve. (BMS)
