A large wildfire was burning through low vegetation in the area of Drosopigi, in Afidnes, east Attica, on Sunday morning.
The Fire Department has sent 50 firefighters with 15 fire engines, three groups on foot, two water-dropping aircraft and three helicopters in the area.
Authorities have also sent put an emergency alert to residents urging them to remain vigilant.
Civil protection authorities have placed the area on a category-3 risk of wildfire on a 5-notch scale.
