Surroundings explosion

At least 10 people were killed and 60 others injured after fireworks exploded during a religious festival in Mexico. The incident occurred Saturday in Temascalcingo municipality in Mexico state. The blast happened during a rural religious celebration attended by local residents.
Videos shared on social media showed people carrying a straw bull decorated with fireworks. The fireworks appeared to shoot flames from the bull during the celebration. Reports said the burning structure may have ignited a larger fireworks stockpile inside a nearby church.
The resulting explosions caused several walls to collapse around the festival area. A fire also spread through the town’s main square following the blasts. Some people reportedly became trapped beneath debris from the collapsed structures.
Emergency teams responded to the scene and treated dozens of injured people. Local reports said several victims suffered injuries after being struck by falling debris. Authorities have not yet confirmed what caused the fireworks to explode.
Mexico’s attorney general’s office said investigators had launched an inquiry into the incident. Officials have yet to determine whether safety violations contributed to the explosion. The tragedy recalls another deadly fireworks accident in Mexico in July 2018. That explosion at a fireworks factory north of Mexico City killed 24 people.
