Residents in a neighborhood in Lexington, Missouri were forced to evacuate after a gas line was struck, Friday afternoon.The City of Lexington, Missouri posted to social media to warn other residents to avoid the area around 429 Business Highway 13 between South Street and 13th Street near the city’s local Pizza Hut.Just after 4 p.m., the city announced South Business Highway 13 was reopened along with Francis Street for local traffic only.Gas services will be restored for those in the affected area following repairs, according to the city.
This is the second time a gas line has been struck in the city a year after a 2025 gas line strike triggered a deadly explosion that killed a 5-year-old boy and severely injured two others.
