At least 21 people were killed in a road accident in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
The accident occurred at around 11.30pm on Sunday and involved two minibus taxis and a station wagon, according to ENCA portal.
The severity of the crash has forced authorities to close the N1 road in both directions, with motorists urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
Police say the only available alternative is via Prince Albert Road Station, along the R407 towards the N12, before continuing on the N12 towards Beaufort West.
Authorities are warning motorists to expect significant delays and to exercise extreme caution while travelling in the area.
Emergency personnel and traffic officials remain at the scene, and motorists have been urged to follow their instructions and avoid the affected section of the N1 where possible.
The cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed.
