Wreckage from a crashed drone has been found near Hanover, Germany, German broadcaster NDR reported.
The debris was discovered near Lake Steinhude. Police were notified of the debris on Monday, September 14, and are searching a large, uninhabited area for more fragments.
Bild reported that the crash site is just one kilometer from the Wunstorf military airfield. The drone’s owner has not yet been identified, and police are investigating why it was in the area.

In August 2026, a drone with explosives attached was found at Leipzig Airport near a Ukrainian An-124 transport plane carrying ammunition. It later emerged that several drones were involved. On September 1, German authorities formally accused Russia of an attempted act of sabotage at the airport. Moscow denies the allegations.
