Security forces have killed more than 71 terrorists in Balochistan during operations conducted over the past 96 hours, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The military’s media wing said the operations targeted what it described as Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan in several areas.In Shaban, Quetta, security forces killed 33 terrorists during a major operation, while clearing several terrorist hideouts. Forces also recovered a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives from the cleared locations. The operation helped remove the threat to local residents, according to the ISPR.Meanwhile, security forces killed 23 more terrorists during operations carried out over the previous 72 hours. The forces also cleared a vast area and recovered weapons and ammunition from different locations. Operations were also conducted in Nushki and Mand as part of the wider campaign.The ISPR said more than 71 terrorists had been killed across different areas of Balochistan during the 96-hour period. It added that operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam strategy would continue with full resolve. Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to countering what the military describes as foreign-sponsored terrorism.President Asif Ali Zardari praised security forces for their operations across Balochistan. He commended the elimination of more than 71 terrorists during Operation Shaban and other operations in the province. The president also described the clearance of terrorist hideouts as a major achievement and said operations would continue against terrorism.Zardari further praised the sacrifices of security personnel during counter-terrorism operations. He said their services in the fight against terrorism remained a source of pride for the nation. He also expressed support for continued efforts to eliminate what he described as terrorism backed by foreign forces.
