The FDNY evacuated a building in Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon because of elevated levels of carbon monoxide.
Crews responded to a call about a manhole fire on Cortelyou Road in Flatbush around 1 p.m. When they arrived, they detected high levels of the gas, which does not have any smell or taste, but can be deadly if inhaled.
The structure between Ocean Avenue and East 21st Street was cleared as a precaution.
No injuries were reported.
