Police are investigating after a tobacco shop was gutted by flames in Melbourne's north early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the fire on Gaffney Street in Pascoe Vale at about 4.30am today.
Fire Rescue Victoria said firefighters arrived to find a car had "knocked through the front of a single storey brick shop, with flames issuing from the building".
Fire crews extinguished the blaze but the building sustained significant damage.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious.
A crime scene has been established which will be examined by an arson chemist today.
Detectives will investigate whether the fire may be linked to any other recent attacks.
