A car bomb exploded on Tuesday in Manbij, a city in the northeast of Aleppo Governorate in northern Syria, killing two people and wounding at least four others, local radio station Sham FM reported.
The explosive device, planted in a civilian vehicle on the al-Tajnid Street, also sparked nearby car fires and damaged several homes in the vicinity, said the report.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the incident.
Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government earlier this month, clashes have intensified between the U.S.-backed Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Turkish-backed "Syrian National Army (SNA)," especially over the control of Manbij and its surrounding areas.
The SNA claimed to have entered Manbij and currently carrying out combing campaigns, whereas the SDF said Tuesday they have launched a counter-offensive to take back areas near Manbij.
