Woorim Beach, Woorim, Bribie Island, Queensland

A teenage girl has died after being attacked by a shark at a popular holiday spot.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Woorim Beach on Bribie Island at around 4.45pm local time.
Bribie Island is north of Brisbane, not far from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Queensland Ambulance Services paramedics desperately tried to save the girl, but she has since died from her injuries.
It is understood the young woman suffered bite marks to her upper body.
7NEWS reporter Jacquelin Robson said the girl, who was in her mid-teens, died on the beach.
“It’s not yet known what kind of shark was involved,” she said.
“The water appear to be murky and surf life savers tell us there have been multiple shark sightings over recent weeks.”
Video from the 7NEWS helicopter shows a young woman being comforted by an older woman as she is led away from the area.
