A man has died after a plane he was piloting crashed on an airstrip in far west New South Wales.Emergency services were alerted to the crash at about 7:15am today at White Cliffs Aerodrome, more than 250 kilometres north-east of Broken Hill.Police said the male pilot, understood to have been the sole occupant of the aircraft, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.Police have secured a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident with support from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.Other emergency responders at the scene include NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW State Emergency Service.It comes less than three months after another tragedy in the outback community, in which a nine-year-old boy was killed when a utility overturned on a property on Glendara Road.A report will be prepared for the coroner.
